Marianne Mercedes Manzler is a Filipina-American writer and teacher raised in the heartland of Cincinnati, Ohio. She has a BA in English from The Ohio State University and an MFA in creative writing from the University of Washington, where she held the distinguished Grace Milliman Pollock fellowship, organized several literary series, and served as Co-Editor-in-Chief of the Seattle Review.

Her writing has received support from the Vermont Studio Center, Kenyon Review Writers Workshop, the University of Washington, The Ohio State University, and the U.S. Fulbright program.

Currently, she’s at work on Mercy, a memoir about illness, travel, womanhood, and loss.
